Challenge

Dartmouth College was looking to add a cutting edge, cost effective and energy efficient building solution for study groups, small club events and a casual place for the students to unwind.

Solution

60’ wide by 75’ long Sprung Structure Student Center.

Results

The high tech look of the Sprung tensioned membrane structure made an immediate impact with students. The combination of a tall peak height, translucent daylight panels and glazing wall provides a bright, spacious relaxing interior where students can relax and unwind.

This Sprung Structure Features:

A custom translucent daylight pattern was added to allow for more natural daylight.
Energy efficient performance fiberglass insulation system blanket.
2 entrance vestibules.
5 – 15’ glazing wall sections.
The structure sits in the center of campus next to the athletic field houses and football stadium and will be used permanently on what were once tennis courts.
