Located in Littleton, Colorado, among the Red Rocks in Waterton Canyon, The Golf Club at Ravenna began as a large real estate development project that included the construction of a world-class golf course.
The championship golf course needed an initial clubhouse, maintenance facility and universal golf cart storage barn and required a fast, reliable and relocatable building alternative to conventional construction. Sprung’s durable, precision-engineered tensioned membrane structure was the solution of choice for Ravenna, who wanted the “wow” factor at a practical cost.
The 40’ wide x 115’ long clubhouse includes 60 feet of glazing walls for a breathtaking view from the entire side of the clubhouse structure, overlooking the 18th hole. Inside, a dramatic, comfortable environment is achieved through large clearspan space, soaring ceilings and immense natural lighting allowed in through custom daylights above.
The fully functioning clubhouse also features travertine floors, golf shop, restaurant, and fine dining for all of its members. Adjacent to the clubhouse is a second 60′ x 105′ storage facility structure utilized for storing signature golf carts and golf course grooming equipment.
Sprung helped Ravenna make the Top 100 Modern courses on the Golfweek list. Using two stunning structures, one as a Golf Clubhouse and the other as a complementing structure for a golf cart storage facility, caters to such a “high-end” community like Ravenna.
