Located in the very heart of Los Angeles, the University of Southern California is one of the world’s leading research universities.
The University had to undergo a major renovation project that included an addition to the University’s on-campus dining facilities. With the new school year approaching, the University of Southern California faced a number of challenges that included the need for a full-service, fully customizable dining pavilion within a very short time frame. Sprung Structures and Kitchens to Go supplied the solution.
USC required a semi-permanent building solution that could meet the most stringent of building code requirements of Los Angeles, including a Class A Roof, CEQA, and Title 24 requirements. After an extensive search, a Sprung structure was selected as the product of choice, due to its upgraded aesthetics, its energy-efficient eight-inch fiberglass insulation package, Class A Roof assembly, and Sprung’s track record of timely deliveries and on-time completions.
The Lot is the largest single dining complex at USC, an ideal space with seven dining options and a retail store. Food outlets include popular brands: Wolfgang Puck Express, Carl’s Jr., ZAO Noodle Bar, and Submarina California Subs. The Lot has five plasma TV screens, a contemporary sound system, coffee and dessert stations, ATMs and wireless Internet.
