The San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park, San Diego, California, is one of the largest and most progressive zoos in the world, with over 4000 animals representing 800 species. It is also one of the few zoos in the world that houses the giant panda. The zoo is privately operated by the nonprofit Zoological Society of San Diego on 107 acres of parkland leased from the City of San Diego.

The ZPA Sprung hospitality building measures 60′ wide x 90′ long and is utilized for events, weddings, fund raisers and replaces tents which were previously rented for 15 years. The Zoo was spending a significant amount of money on tents and realized that the upgraded aesthetics of the Sprung structure provided significantly more value and entered into a Sprung’s five year lease with option to purchase.

The Clark Theater Sprung structure measures 50 feet in diameter and is used for an education center for children. After two years the Clark Theater was converted to the fully insulated San Diego Zoo Imax Theater.
