Client
- San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
Challenge
- The existing Ground Transportation Unit (GTU) facility was originally intended for temporary use and did not adequately accommodate the current airport functions. The airport needed an interim solution to relocate the facilities to an existing parking lot in the North Field.
Solution
- As time was of the essence, a 90’ wide x 60 long Sprung structure was utilized as an interim facility to expand the GTU unit needs. Sprung was selected due to part to speed of delivery and construction as well as the relocatable design, should the airport needs continue to change.
Results
- The 5,400 square foot Sprung structure includes a radio shop, gas station, car/bus wash as well as administrative offices.
