ハーツフィールド・ジャクソン・アトランタ国際空港は、全消防署の徹底的な見直しを行い、各消防署に大規模な改修が必要であると判断した。空港関係者は、各署の改修中に使用できる暫定的な移転可能な建物を導入することが最善の方法であると判断した。
スプラング構造は、その明確なスパン設計、限られた基礎要件、幅広いサービスドアのオプションのため、空港の選択製品となった。サイズは70フィート×75フィートで、3台の緊急車両を収容できるよう設計され、当初2年間のリース契約が結ばれました。しかし、この建物は非常に優れた性能を発揮したため、空港はこの建物を購入するオプションを行使し、第二消防署の改修場所に移設した。
