The Ask
The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport underwent a thorough review of all of its fire stations and determined that each one needed extensive renovations. Airport officials decided the best approach was to bring in an interim, relocatable building that could be used while each station was updated.
How Sprung Delivered
A Sprung structure became the airport’s product of choice, due in part to its clear-span design, limited foundation requirements and wide range of service door options. Measuring 70’ x 75’, the structure was designed to house three emergency vehicles and was leased for an initial twoyear period. However, the structure performed so well that the airport exercised the option to purchase it, and then relocated it to a second fire station renovation location.
