コリングウッド・カレッジはスポーツの分野で輝かしい実績を誇ってきましたが、30年近くスポーツ施設のない状態が続いていました。そこで同校はスプラングに解決策を求めました。
新しいスポーツホールの建設は2008年9月に開始され、2009年3月17日に予定通り予算内で完成しました。最も厳しい英国の建築基準法に完全に準拠したこのスプラング構造は、24.4メートル×46.6メートルで、使用可能なスペースはほぼ1,080平方メートル。この施設には、フルサイズのバスケットボールコート、更衣室、トイレ、シャワー、広々とした倉庫、ジム用具を収納する中2階、ダンススタジオなどが完備されています。また、現在では英国のトッププロバスケットボールチームのひとつであるギルフォード・ヒートのホームトレーニング会場としても利用されています。
