リッチランド郡保安官事務所は、変電所増設の必要性の高まりに直面した際、従来型の郡庁舎に伴う高額な維持費を軽減するため、代替建築ソリューションの検討を開始しました。広範な調査の結果、同局は建設費と運営費を削減するために、次の変電所にスプラング構造を採用することを選択しました。
スプラングは、サウスカロライナ州エルジンの町にある同局の第7地域変電所として、幅40フィート×長さ120フィートの完全断熱構造を設計・施工しました。特注の外壁色と明るく広々とした内装が特徴で、十分なオフィススペース、分室・会議室、受付エリア、休憩室・キッチン、シャワー室・ロッカー設備など、変電所に必要な管理・運営設備をすべて備えています。
