The Ask
Released in 1997, Starship Troopers is an American science fiction film about an interstellar war between humanity and alien species over the colonization of outer space. Production of the movie involved a number of logistical challenges—not only did the sets need to look futuristic (the film was set in the 23rd century), they also had to be easily shippable for use in various locations while filming. Plus, the crew had to deal with fierce weather conditions during most of the shoot in Wyoming.
How Sprung Delivered
In addition to the “Planet P Station” structure, the client leased support structures from Sprung as well—special effects, wardrobe, props, craft services, the grid department and set construction all had their own structures, which led to enormous overall cost savings on the production.
