1997年に公開された『スターシップ・トゥルーパーズ』は、宇宙の植民地化をめぐる人類と異星人との星間戦争を描いたアメリカのSF映画である。この映画の製作には、ロジスティクス上の課題がいくつもあった。セットには近未来的な外観（映画の舞台は23世紀）が求められただけでなく、撮影中にさまざまな場所で使用するために簡単に輸送できる必要があった。さらに、ワイオミング州での撮影のほとんどで、クルーは激しい天候に対処しなければならなかった。
プラネットPステーション」の構造に加え、クライアントは特殊効果、衣装、小道具、工芸サービス、グリッド部門、セット建設などのサポート構造もスプラングからリースした。
