COVID-19の大流行後、対面式学習に戻る生徒の流入に備える一方で、シンシナティ公立学校はウォルナットヒルズ高校にランチルームのスペースを追加する緊急の必要性を認識していました。そして、最近改修された同校のテニスコートの上にスプラングを建設することで、同施設が1つ以上の機能を果たすようになり、長期的な価値が高まることがすぐに判明しました。
スプラングは、ウォルナットヒルズ高校のテニスコート6面を覆う140フィート×321.5フィートの広々とした建造物を設計・納入しました。計画通りに、完全断熱のこの施設は高性能テニスコートのカバーとして機能すると同時に、昼休みの生徒のための屋内座席スペースとしても二重の役割を果たしています。また、明るいクリアスパン構造は、必要に応じて試験場としても使用されています。
