海軍兵学校では、1日4,500人の士官候補生に食事を提供する食堂、キング・ホール・ギャレーの改装工事中、一時的な食料貯蔵施設として使用できる大型の断熱建造物が必要でした。
スプラング社は、5〜7日分の食品を保存するための十分な乾燥スペース、冷蔵スペース、冷凍スペース、調理スペースを含む完全断熱構造を提供した。アクセス道路をまたぐカバーは、食品配達のための天候保護を提供するために含まれていました。また、反対側の壁には特注の開口部を設け、厨房トレーラーにシームレスに移行できるようにした。この食品貯蔵施設は、キング・ホールの18ヶ月の改修期間中、1日あたり約14,000食の給食に役立った。
