Established in 1962, Englewood Baptist Church has been a fixture in the Rocky Mount and surrounding communities for many years. In the last several years it had become evident that they did not have enough space to provide current students with classrooms or worship time. This also meant that Englewood didn’t have enough room to grow and reach other unsaved students.

For many years, the pastors and leadership at Englewood Baptist researched building options and in the end were led to Sprung for their new student center. The Sprung building solution was a cost effective option, could be erected quickly, with an unique architecture, innovative, versatile and reliable approach to buildings. The unconventional look would also appeal to students and attract the unconventional church goer. To finance the approximately $1 million project, Church leaders decided to do a fund-raising campaign instead of incurring debt.

In late 2010, Englewood Baptist opened the doors of The Edge, which stands for Evangelism, Discipleship, Growth and Equipping. The approximately 10,000 square foot youth building consists of 8 classrooms, a kitchen, a large lounge and game area, and a worship center with seating for 220 and a stage for the praise band.
