The concert and entertainment complex “Rollerdrome”, 39.6m (130 ft) x 91m (300 ft) fully insulated Sprung structure was erected in 2009 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Russia. With a capacity of 2,400 people, the structure includes an interior and exterior Dupont Tedlar desert sand architectural membrane.
The complex started its operation at the end of the summer of 2010 and has already become a popular venue locally. The acoustics inside the “soft wall” insulated Sprung structure are significantly better than conventional concrete buildings.
On September 29, 2010, an official meeting, sponsored by Gazprom, took place in Rollerdrome during the Russian President Medvedev’s visit to Kamchatka. In September/October 2010, a number of concerts were performed including: C.C. Catch, BoneyM, Modern Talking, Gale Force Dance, Secret Service and some Russian music bands. On October 17, 2010 Rollerdrome hosted the official celebration of 270 anniversary of the foundation of Petropavlovsk- Kamchatskiy.
The capacity of the concert hall is 2,400 seats.
