The Ask

With the increased popularity of snow tubing, Blue Mountain needed an immediate day lodge to accommodate tubers.

How Sprung Delivered

A 50’ x 185’ Sprung structure was the solution of choice for Blue Mountain’s day lodge application. The speed of delivery and construction, along with the structure’s high-tech look, were determining factors in Sprung being selected for the facility. The structure includes a full-service kitchen, a bar and a coffee shop, as well as a staff lounge, administrative offices and a storage area.

About five years after the addition of the day lodge, Blue Mountain wanted to expand and move several of its service areas to the base of the mountain. The resort team was so happy with the performance of its first Sprung structure that it decided to go with two more: a 70’ x 95 structure connected to a 60’ x 225’ structure, the latter of which features two additional connecting corridors to adjoin to an existing building. The 70’ x 95’ structure serves as a full-service childcare center, while the 60’ x 225’ structure houses ticket sales, locker space, ski/snowboard rentals and concession services.

A New Chapter Begins

After 138 years serving Southern Alberta, Western Tent would like to announce that our operations are being absorbed by our larger conglomerate, Sprung Structures. As we move forward, many of the products we’ve offered over the years—including residential and commercial awnings, canopies, tents and custom shelters—will no longer be available.

Thank you to all of our loyal and valued customers. Your trust and support over the years have meant the world to us. We invite you to visit www.sprung.com to see what the company’s future holds under the Sprung name.

With gratitude,
