THE ASK

Waterford Farms needed a facility for its new state-of-the-art shrimp farm pilot project. Because shrimp farming requires carefully controlled temperatures and high moisture levels from open water tanks, the building needed to maintain a stable interior environment year-round. The client also wanted a cost-effective solution that would provide better performance than a conventional steel building.

HOW SPRUNG DELIVERED

Sprung delivered a fully insulated 9,000-square-foot structure with 8’ leg extensions, designed to meet the unique demands of indoor shrimp farming. Built using our patented tensioned-membrane technology, the modular facility features an encapsulated insulation system and airtight building envelope that help maintain the consistent temperatures needed for shrimp growth and harvesting.

The structure has allowed Waterford Farms to successfully operate its indoor shrimp farm in a controlled, energy-efficient environment while supporting plans for future expansion.
