The Ask

In November 2013, the Philippines was hit by Typhoon Haiyan (also known as Super Typhoon Yolanda), a devastating tropical cyclone with winds exceeding 185 miles per hour. In the storm’s wake, Samaritan’s Purse deployed disaster response specialists and emergency supplies to the area, but a warehouse was required to safely house the vital supplies.

How Sprung Delivered

Sprung immediately delivered a durable, 40’ x 100’ tensioned membrane structure to Tacloban City, one of the hardest hit areas. The structure sheltered blankets, medical supplies, tarps, hygiene kits, food packets, generators, mosquito nets and water filtration systems throughout the recovery period.

A New Chapter Begins

After 138 years serving Southern Alberta, Western Tent would like to announce that our operations are being absorbed by our larger conglomerate, Sprung Structures. As we move forward, many of the products we’ve offered over the years—including residential and commercial awnings, canopies, tents and custom shelters—will no longer be available.

Thank you to all of our loyal and valued customers. Your trust and support over the years have meant the world to us. We invite you to visit www.sprung.com to see what the company’s future holds under the Sprung name.

With gratitude,
The Western Tent Team
