The Ask

Weatherford needed an immediate solution for housing a new manufacturing facility at its Siberian gas field operations. After considering a number of options, the company decided that a Sprung structure would be the ideal fit. This decision was due in large part to Sprung’s speed of construction and proven track record in remote locations. Weatherford also appreciated the Sprung structure’s clear-span, column-free design, which could easily accommodate a large gantry crane.

How Sprung Delivered

Weatherford’s 100’ x 470’ Sprung structure includes a nine-inch layer of formaldehyde-free fiberglass blanket insulation, a full-height interior partition and three 16’ x 16’ rolling service doors.

Sprung also supplied a low-temperature arctic outer membrane, which is designed for extreme cold weather applications. The building’s large and unobstructed capacity easily accommodates Weatherford’s vast manufacturing facility, which includes a full-scale machine shop, lathes, crane, storage racking and a calibration room.

A New Chapter Begins

After 138 years serving Southern Alberta, Western Tent would like to announce that our operations are being absorbed by our larger conglomerate, Sprung Structures. As we move forward, many of the products we’ve offered over the years—including residential and commercial awnings, canopies, tents and custom shelters—will no longer be available.

Thank you to all of our loyal and valued customers. Your trust and support over the years have meant the world to us. We invite you to visit www.sprung.com to see what the company’s future holds under the Sprung name.

With gratitude,
