The Ask
Well-known for its College Athletics Programme, Blackrock wanted a new, state-of-the art sports facility but was facing a tight timeline and budget. The college turned to Sprung to provide an immediate gymnasium solution.
How Sprung Delivered
Blackrock’s sports facility, called the Des Places Sports Hall, was erected in a fraction of the time and cost compared to conventional construction projects. The fully insulated 80’ x 185’ structure features a hard wall “Sprung Shield” running down its interior and exterior walls in order to cover ducting while simultaneously providing a protective rebound surface. Daylight panels in the peak of the structure provide an optimum amount of natural light to enhance the playing environment. The structure also features a self-supporting canopy over the main entrance.
