The Ask

As part of the U.S. Army’s “Grow the Army” initiative, which was intended to increase the Army’s size by nearly 75,000 soldiers, Fort Bliss was scheduled to receive upgrades in 2005. It was decided that a Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) gymnasium was needed to serve the soldiers.

How Sprung Delivered

Sprung supplied a cost-effective, durable structure to serve as the MWR gymnasium. Built using our patented tensioned membrane technology, the lightweight structure was erected in a fraction of the time it takes conventional construction. The clear-span design allowed for an open and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere to ensure soldiers got the most from their workouts.

In addition to the gym facility, Sprung supplied Fort Bliss with an additional 10 structures that were used in various ways.

Let’s Talk

A New Chapter Begins

After 138 years serving Southern Alberta, Western Tent would like to announce that our operations are being absorbed by our larger conglomerate, Sprung Structures. As we move forward, many of the products we’ve offered over the years—including residential and commercial awnings, canopies, tents and custom shelters—will no longer be available.

Thank you to all of our loyal and valued customers. Your trust and support over the years have meant the world to us. We invite you to visit www.sprung.com to see what the company’s future holds under the Sprung name.

With gratitude,
The Western Tent Team
