The Ask

Intel performed a massive, $8 billion upgrade at its plants in Hillsboro, Oregon, and Chandler, Arizona, making these plants the most advanced chip manufacturing plants in the world. As renovations got going at the Hillsboro plant, it was determined that the company needed a temporary structure to house another on-site lunchroom facility for the subcontractors working on the upgrade.

How Sprung Delivered

Intel leased an 88’ x 360’ Sprung structure in 1997 and exercised the option to purchase it a year later. In 2006, after nine years of using the structure as an office building, Intel dismantled it and used part of it to build a lunchroom/cafeteria for its Costa Rica-based employees.
