THE ASK
As part of a CCSF expansion project, stakeholders sought to add multi-use classrooms and office space to the Evans Center campus. The plan required constructing the new classrooms on a narrow footprint positioned close to property lines. Sprung was selected to provide an efficient and innovative building solution.
HOW SPRUNG DELIVERED
Working in collaboration with Gelfand Partners Architects and EF Brett and Company construction, Sprung provided two fully insulated structures designed to meet the site’s narrow footprint and height restrictions. Positioned side by side, the buildings include spacious clear-span interiors with partition walls that create multiple classrooms and office areas for flexible programming.
The structures also feature highly durable Tedlar membranes that incorporate the campus color palette and prominent lettering for a cohesive look. Primary entrances to the classrooms face a central walkway between the buildings, while fire exits are integrated into the exterior walls of each structure. Additional security and bathroom trailers are also located on the site.
