The Ask

Plagued by overcrowding, the Elgin-Middlesex Detention Centre in London, Ontario, required a durable, customizable and cost-effective structure to increase its capacity. Specifically, the facility would function by separating intermittent inmates from the general inmate population to prevent smuggling and to improve staff and prisoner safety.

How Sprung Delivered

Sprung delivered a state-of-the-art, 112-bed standalone structure, named the Regional Intermittent Centre. Featuring our patented tensioned membrane technology, the building has two dormitories, a segregation unit, second-floor mezzanines with offices and guard watchtowers, secured check-in areas and waiting rooms, lockers, and all the essential security equipment to facilitate smooth day-to-day operations.inmates serving a custodial sentence of 90 days or less serve their sentence separately from the full-time inmates.

Thank you to all of our loyal and valued customers. Your trust and support over the years have meant the world to us. We invite you to visit www.sprung.com to see what the company’s future holds under the Sprung name.
