Global Auto Processing Services (GAPS) is a full-service automotive processing facility at the US Naval base at Port Hueneme, California. In need of a facility for automotive processing and vehicle inspection, GAPS sought an immediate solution that would prove reliable, cost-effective and flexible. GAPS turned to Sprung for its immediacy and its advantage for easy expansion to meet future processing needs.
GAPS purchased five pre-fabricated Sprung tensioned membrane structures for its Vehicle Prep Centre, all of which provide a unique and innovative solution to enclosed spaces, at a fraction of the time and expense of conventional construction.
The Sprung structures constructed: one 27,000 square foot PDI/Accessory structure, one 13,000 square foot structure for their Warranty/Repair department, one 2,400 square foot Throw-in structure, one 12,600 square foot Parts structure and one 12,000 square foot structure housing a Paint and Body shop.
“Two challenges in our industry are to provide structures for new customers and to expand structures for existing customers. Sprung structures provide an immediate, reliable, cost-effective and flexible solution for automotive vehicle processing.”
