THE ASK

With more than 50 sports teams on its roster, Regis Jesuit High School is a serious contender in high school athletics. It’s also one of the only private secondary schools in Colorado that has its own aquatic center.

In 2019, the aquatic center’s 20-year-old, air-supported bubble cover was deemed inefficient, as it required a constant flow of energy to stay inflated. The school contacted an aquatics facility design firm to recommend some budget-friendly, energy-efficient solutions for replacing the bubble. After being presented with various options, the school chose a Sprung solution for its quality, speed and cost-effectiveness.

HOW SPRUNG DELIVERED

Within 90 days of construction starting in 2020, a new Sprung structure was in place over the school’s existing pool. Built with our patented tension-fabric membrane and an aluminum substructure that is resistant to both rust and corrosion, the Sprung enclosure features daylight panels for optimal natural light, as well as an encapsulated insulation system engineered for a high-moisture environment.

More sustainable and durable than the pool’s original bubble cover, the new Sprung enclosure will readily withstand the extreme weather conditions often experienced in Colorado’s front range.

With their Sprung structure, Regis Jesuit High School turned their outdoor pool into a year-round aquatic center.
