The Ask

SLC Fire needed a depot where it could store a large supply of reserve apparatus and equipment that had previously been scattered at stations throughout the city. To have the equipment stored, staged and managed at one central location would mean faster and more effective response to any emergency in the city.

How Sprung Delivered

Sprung provided SLC Fire with a 19,5000-square-foot, clear-span insulated warehouse, now known as the Logistics Building. The structure’s high peak heights create lots of space for vehicles and equipment, and its white interior lining and daylight panels create a bright and welcoming atmosphere. By relocating all of the department’s extra equipment to one central location, SLC Fire is now able to provide a quicker response to any fire or emergency event that might take place. In addition to housing equipment, the Logistics Building now provides office space for department personnel who maintain and update inventory, and who provide prompt, as-needed delivery of equipment to the various stations.

A New Chapter Begins

After 138 years serving Southern Alberta, Western Tent would like to announce that our operations are being absorbed by our larger conglomerate, Sprung Structures. As we move forward, many of the products we’ve offered over the years—including residential and commercial awnings, canopies, tents and custom shelters—will no longer be available.

Thank you to all of our loyal and valued customers. Your trust and support over the years have meant the world to us. We invite you to visit www.sprung.com to see what the company’s future holds under the Sprung name.

With gratitude,
