The Ask

ICE required the construction of a new processing center in Raymondville, Willacy County, Texas. Not only did this new facility need to accommodate multiple levels of security and 2,000 detainee beds, it also had to be built and operational within 90 days of the contract award.

How Sprung Delivered

Sprung designed and delivered a highly secure facility consisting of 10 structures, each measuring 70’ x 205’. Built and operational within the required 90 days, the structures were completed in three stages: 500 beds were available within 40 days; 600 additional beds were in operation 20 days later; and the final 1,000 beds were ready 30 days after that. Since the initial opening of the site, the facility has expanded to house up to 3,086 detainees.

Let’s Talk

A New Chapter Begins

After 138 years serving Southern Alberta, Western Tent would like to announce that our operations are being absorbed by our larger conglomerate, Sprung Structures. As we move forward, many of the products we’ve offered over the years—including residential and commercial awnings, canopies, tents and custom shelters—will no longer be available.

Thank you to all of our loyal and valued customers. Your trust and support over the years have meant the world to us. We invite you to visit www.sprung.com to see what the company’s future holds under the Sprung name.

With gratitude,
The Western Tent Team
