THE ASK

In late 2007, the Department of Defense (DOD) launched a major procurement initiative to replace most up armored high mobility, multi-wheeled vehicles (HMMWVs) in Iraq with mine-resistant, ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicles. MRAPs have been described as providing twice as much protection against improvised explosive devices (IEDs) than up-armored HMMWVs. IEDs, at the height of their use, were responsible for about 70% of U.S. casualties in Iraq. Sprung was called upon to provide the MRAP program with an immediate solution for vehicle maintenance facilities at eight military bases in Iraq.

HOW SPRUNG DELIVERED

Sprung mobilized operations and delivered 11 structures totaling 265,000 square feet within the four to six-week delivery requirement. Featuring double panel rolling doors, the structures provided the military with the ability to fit all necessary equipment and vehicles into the facilities. In addition, the structures’ tensioned fabric membranes guaranteed longevity, quality and protection against the elements. https://asc.army.mil/web/portfolio-item/cs-css-mine resistant-ambush-protected-mrap-vehicle-mrap/
